A Sunday dual of duos? No, not that. More like dual duos. The International Treasures and Wren + Wilde, for a special Sunday afternoon White Squirrel event. You wanna come, so do come, k?
Drawn from the very air itself (and a robust wi-fi signal), the combination of Ted Hajnasiewicz and Doyle Turner feels like fate. Raised on Minneapolis rock and roll, Ted Hajnasiewicz is an award-winning songwriter and named “Maverick” artist by the Midwest Country Music Organization. Doyle Turner is the “little bit country” side of the duo. Doyle and Ted met on the internet in 2020, and have put their backs to the musical wall to perform songs that matter.
WREN + WILDE is a Minnesota folk band led by singer-songwriter Hilary Yoder, whose unmistakable “smoke folk” sound has earned the group a growing reputation throughout the Midwest Americana scene. Blending heartfelt harmonies, honest storytelling and a gritty flavor of Americana, Wren + Wilde crafts songs that smolder with equal parts fire and feeling. With echoes of Fleetwood Mac, The Civil Wars and Emmylou Harris and the Hot Band, Wren + Wilde honors the traditions of American roots music while creating something distinctly their own. Their debut album, Serial Dreamers, reveals a rich blend of Southern gothic textures, vintage country soul and Laurel Canyon-era rock, delivering a collection of raw and resonant songs that explore love, loss, resilience, and the bittersweet hope that keeps us believing despite life’s uncertainties.
